Waygate Technologies, a Baker Hughes company specializing in non-destructive testing solutions, announced the expansion of its VideoProbe™ portfolio with the launch of the Everest Mentor Flex+, a next-generation videoscope designed for remote visual inspection in demanding industrial environments. The equipment is now available worldwide.
The company introduced the system on May 6, 2026, highlighting that the new Mentor Flex+ incorporates improvements aimed at increasing versatility, precision, and operational efficiency in critical asset inspection tasks.
Its applications include highly regulated sectors such as aerospace and energy, where the reliability of visual data is key to maintenance decision-making.
Integration of Interchangeable Probes
One of its main innovations is the integration of QuickChange interchangeable probes, available in 4.0 mm and 6.1 mm diameters, plus a 6.2 mm working channel probe for foreign object retrieval.
The Mentor Flex+ also incorporates Real3D™ measurement capabilities, a technology that generates a three-dimensional point cloud to quantify defects such as cracks, corrosion, wear, or surface irregularities.
According to Waygate Technologies, this function enables obtaining depth data, surface profiles, and dimensions with submillimeter precision.
Additionally, the videoscope features a WXGA LCD touchscreen, adaptive automatic noise reduction, Always-Up gravity sensor, and auto-rotation mode to maintain correct image orientation during inspection. These functions aim to improve defect visibility and facilitate navigation in complex internal geometries.
Menu-Driven Inspection
In terms of data management, the system is compatible with InspectionWorks, Waygate Technologies’ cloud platform for inspection storage, analysis, and report generation.
It also includes the Menu-Driven Inspection function, which helps standardize workflows and automatically tag captured data.
According to Michael Domke, General Manager of Visual at Waygate Technologies, the incorporation of QuickChange probes allows technicians to cover multiple inspection needs with a single device, improving efficiency and contributing to reduced total cost of ownership.
Transforming Industrial Inspections
The equipment is designed to operate in rigorous industrial conditions, with the capability to capture images at temperatures up to 100°C, which reduces downtime by allowing inspections without waiting for complete cooling of engines or machinery.
It also retains a military-grade aluminum housing with Gorilla® glass and has been tested under MIL-STD-810H specifications.
Waygate Technologies stated that the Everest Mentor Flex+ is part of its strategy to drive the digital transformation of industrial inspections through connected tools, structured data, and advanced measurement technologies for non-destructive testing.
