The 28th edition of the International Aboveground Storage Tank Conference & Trade Show, organized by the National Institute for Storage Tank Management ( NISTM ), concluded in Orlando, Florida, solidifying its position as one of the most important gatherings for the aboveground storage tank industry.

Held from April 28-30 at the Rosen Shingle Creek Hotel, the event brought together technical experts, manufacturers, service providers and operators from the sector, who participated in an agenda focused on innovation, integrity and operation of industrial assets.

Extensive participation from leading companies in the sector

During the event, a prominent trade exhibition was held with the participation of dozens of companies specializing in solutions for industrial storage , inspection, coatings , instrumentation and maintenance.

Companies such as Emerson, HMT, CST Industries, Matrix Service Company, and Endress+Hauser participated in the trade show, along with numerous technical organizations and service providers. This diversity allowed attendees to learn about technological advancements and establish strategic connections within the industry.

Likewise, the presence of companies focused on corrosion control, monitoring, automation and industrial safety reflected the technological evolution of the AST tank market.

The conference included an academic program focused on professional development and technical updates. Highlights included specialized courses in tank design, inspection, mechanical integrity , and standards such as SPCC.

Prior to the formal start of the event, intensive sessions such as the “Tanks 101 Course” and the “Liquid Terminals 101 Course” were held, aimed at strengthening fundamental knowledge in the operation and management of facilities.

In addition, specific technical spaces were incorporated, promoted by organizations such as the Steel Tank Institute, reinforcing the practical and regulatory approach of the meeting.

Networking and key activities at NISTM 2026

Beyond the technical content, NISTM 2026 offered numerous opportunities for professional interaction. Activities such as the golf tournament, the Women in the Tank Industry (WiTI) event, and networking sessions facilitated the creation of partnerships and the exchange of experiences.

The trade show also served as a connection point between manufacturers and end users, promoting conversations about operational challenges and opportunities for improvement in the industry.

With its closing, the NISTM 2026 conference reaffirms its role as a key platform for knowledge exchange in the onshore storage industry.

The combination of technical training, technology exhibition, and networking positions this event as a benchmark for professionals seeking to optimize tank management and adapt to the demands of today’s industrial environment.
