IEV Group and CorrosionRADAR integrate continuous corrosion monitoring

IEV and CorrosionRADAR form strategic alliance driving digital CUI monitoring, optimizing inspection, asset integrity, and predictive maintenance.

IEV Group and CorrosionRADAR announced a strategic alliance to expand continuous monitoring of corrosion under insulation (CUI) in Southeast Asia, one of the most environmentally challenging regions.

The agreement covers strategic markets such as Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Brunei, Vietnam, and Thailand, where high humidity and tropical conditions significantly increase the risk of degradation in insulated industrial assets.

The technical improvement implemented by this collaboration is the transition from periodic inspection models to a continuous monitoring approach, redefining integrity management in critical infrastructures.

Environmental Conditions Elevate Corrosion Risk

Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) represents one of the most complex damage mechanisms in the energy industry, especially in regions with high humidity and thermal variability like Southeast Asia.

In these environments, moisture accumulation under insulation creates ideal conditions for corrosive processes that remain hidden until advanced stages, making detection difficult through traditional methods.

This context makes CUI a persistent challenge for inspection programs, which have historically relied on periodic campaigns, often insufficient to detect degradation in early stages.

EMGR Technology Enables Remote Continuous Monitoring

CorrosionRADAR’s technological solution is based on EMGR (Electrical Monitoring Guided Radar) sensors, capable of providing continuous data on material condition without the need to remove insulation.

This approach allows operators to gain real-time visibility into asset status, identifying critical areas where intervention is necessary before structural failures occur.

The integration of this data within IEV Group’s integrity management frameworks facilitates condition-based decision-making, optimizing both inspection planning and resource allocation.

Optimization of Maintenance and Asset Management

The alliance introduces a significant shift towards predictive maintenance strategies, where continuous information allows for prioritizing interventions based on actual risk rather than just scheduled intervals.

This model reduces unnecessary inspections, minimizes operational costs, and improves safety, while extending the lifespan of critical assets in sectors such as oil, gas, hydrogen, and CCUS.

In a context of digital transformation and Industry 4.0, this collaboration positions both companies as key players in the evolution of integrity management, driving data-driven solutions for increasingly complex infrastructures.
