Welspun secured a $412.5 million pipe supply contract through its US subsidiary, driven by growing demand for energy infrastructure and new industrial projects. The Indian steel pipe manufacturer reported that the order includes products for applications such as oil pipelines, gas pipelines, and water lines, and that manufacturing will take place at its modernized plant in Arkansas, USA.
Welspun strengthens its pipe business for energy projects
The new contract will allow Welspun the company aims to expand its presence in the North American market, where energy investments are driving increased demand for industrial pipeline transportation systems. The company also noted that the award brings its global order backlog to $4.7 billion, fueled by projects related to liquefied natural gas, oil, gas, and electrical installations.
The Arkansas plant will promote the production of industrial pipes
The Welspun, U.S. facility will be crucial to fulfilling this order due to the improvements made to its manufacturing capabilities. The plant is equipped to handle projects related to oil pipelines, gas pipelines, and exports, LNG and hydrogen transport systems, this capability allows the company to participate in different segments of energy infrastructure.
Welspun adds new agreements to expand in North America
This contract adds to a previous $1.8 billion pipe supply order secured in August to supply the market from its U.S. facilities. With these agreements, Welspun continues to expand its manufacturing operations in North America by producing steel pipes for energy and utility projects.
