ABO Energy obtained rates for three projects in Germany’s wind power tender, with a combined capacity of 102.2 MW and commissioning planned between 2028 and 2029.
German wind power tender awards 102.2 MW to ABO Energy
ABO Energy secured new contracts in the August wind power tender organized by the German Federal Network Agency. The company obtained tariffs for three projects with a combined capacity of 102.2 megawatts (MW).
In total, the Federal Networking Agency awarded 237 contracts during the process, corresponding to approximately 2.5 gigawatts (GW) capacity.
One of the selected projects is the Bentheim Süd wind farm located in Lower Saxony, the facility will have seven Siemens Gamesa SG 7.0-170 wind turbines, each with a power of 6.6 MW.
In Rhineland-Palatinate, the Rhein-Mosel wind farm it will consist of four Siemens Gamesa SG 7.0-170 wind turbines of 7 MW each.
The third project corresponds to Losheim wind farm repowering located in the Saarland, the company will install four Nordex N163 wind turbines, also with a power of 7 MW per unit.
According to the company’s planning, the three wind farms they will become operational between mid-2028 and early 2029.
ABO Energy is making progress with its wind portfolio in Germany
In addition to the recent awards, the company continues to move forward with other wind power projects distributed across different regions of Germany.
The company sold Vattenfall the rights to the Dittelsheim-Heßloch 2 project, located in Rhineland-Palatinate. The facility will consist of six wind turbines and will have an approximate capacity of 43 MW.
The new development will expand an ABO Energy intermunicipal wind farm consisting of 17 turbines that were put into service between 2012 and 2014.
The company also sold the rights to another wind farm project in 28 MW located in northern Hesse, this development already has the necessary permits to move forward with its construction.
Repowering projects and new sales
In North Rhine-Westphalia, the company transferred the rights to the Olpe Rehringhausen wind farm to Perigus Energy. The project includes three wind turbines that will provide a total capacity of 21 MW.
The company also sold the Heimbach-Vlatten repowering project, currently under construction in the same region, to Blue Elephant Energy (BEE).
This development will install two new wind turbines with a combined capacity of 12 MW, which will replace three previous turbines of 600 kilowatts (kW) each.
BEE also acquired the Ortenberg wind farm, located in Hesse, the project includes three wind turbines and is currently under construction.
Meanwhile, Trianel Erneuerbare Energien acquired the approved expansion of the Dreieck Spreeau wind farm in Brandenburg. The expansion will add three wind turbines to the eight units already operating at the facility, which was built by ABO Energy in 2021.
Germany remains a crucial market for ABO Energy
The new awards allow ABO Energy to move forward with projects in Lower Saxony Rhineland-Palatinate and Saarland, while maintaining its activity of developing, building and selling wind assets in other regions of the country.
