Solstad Offshore ASA confirmed the signing of a letter of intent with an international subsea contractor for the deployment of the CSV vessel Normand Maximus. The agreement covers subsea operations in different regions worldwide and strengthens the Norwegian company’s position in the global offshore market.
The vessel will be assigned to projects of high technical complexity related to subsea infrastructure and support.
Normand Maximus is the largest vessel in Solstad’s fleet and is equipped with a 900-tonne active heave-compensated crane and a 550-tonne vertical lay system.
Contract to start in 2027 with option through 2030
The contract is expected to take effect in the first quarter of 2027. The letter of intent covers a firm period through the first quarter of 2029, followed by an option that could extend the contract term through the first quarter of 2030.

Omega Subsea to provide ROVs and specialized services
As part of the commercial agreement, Solstad Offshore will be supported by Omega Subsea AS to supply two fully crewed professional-class remotely operated vehicles.

The company added that it will provide two work-class remotely operated vehicles, along with tools and survey services, with the support of Omega Subsea.
Normand Maximus stands out for capacity and technology
The CSV Normand Maximus is currently the largest vessel in Solstad Offshore’s fleet. The vessel features a 900-tonne AHC crane and a 550-tonne VLS designed for complex subsea work.
This integration will make it possible to offer a comprehensive subsea solution focused on advanced offshore operations across different international energy markets.
