Denholm Pipetech the company expanded its operational presence in Norway with the opening of new facilities in Sandnes and an investment exceeding 6 million Norwegian kroner (NOK). From this location, the company aims to strengthen its services for oil and gas facilities in the region Norwegian Continental Shelf and the North Sea.
The new facility covers approximately 950 square meters, distributed among six offices, workshops, and outdoor areas. These facilities will allow Pipetech to receive equipment from its clients and perform pipe and process system cleaning services without relying solely on on-site interventions at the operator’s facilities.
Pipetech strengthens its cleaning services in Norway
The new local capacity will also allow for the expanded use of technologies designed to restore flow and maintain asset performance. These include Aqua Milling, a system used to remove buildup that can reduce the effective cross-section of pipes and equipment.
Pipetech also uses high-pressure water jets to remove deposits such as waxes and hardened scale, the accumulation of these residues can restrict process flow and cause operational problems within production systems.
With the opening of the base in Sandnes, the company brings these services closer to operators in the Norwegian Continental Shelf and, at the same time, it has its own space to receive components that need cleaning, inspection or flow remediation treatments.
Investment includes a pump compliant with NORSOK Z-015
As part of the expansion, Pipetech allocated more than 6 million NOK to upgrading facilities, renewing vehicles, and incorporating new equipment to serve the Norwegian energy market.
Among the new units is a high-flow pump prepared to comply with the NORSOK Z-015 standard, designed for offshore work, it can supply up to 182 liters per minute and reach pressures of up to 1,020 bar.
The pump will enable the operation of Pipetech’s Aqua Milling and DSR tools, thus expanding the infrastructure available for carrying out work pipe cleaning, scale removal and flow restoration in systems related to oil and gas production.
The investment also seeks to improve local responsiveness to maintenance projects where the accumulation of deposits affects the performance of pipelines or process equipment.
Sandnes strengthens Pipetech presence in the North Sea
Pipetech maintains a long-standing relationship with the Norwegian market, the company was originally founded in Stavanger 26 years ago and is now using its new base as part of a strategy to strengthen its activity in the country.
The expansion also comes at a time when the company is strengthening its relationship with Denholm Environmental, its parent company. The aim is to leverage the Sandnes infrastructure to address new opportunities within the region Norwegian energy industry.
Leonard Hamill, Pipetech chief operating officer, noted that the opening represents a new stage in the company’s trajectory in the country. According to the executive, the new facilities, the addition of equipment, and the strengthening of the local team position the company favorably for 2027.
Henning Petersen takes over commercial management in Norway
Along with the operational expansion, Pipetech has appointed Henning Petersen as sales manager for Norway. Petersen has over ten years of experience within the country’s oil and gas supply chain.
Based in Sandnes, he will be responsible for developing new opportunities for Pipetech’s technologies and services. He will also support Denholm Environmental in its expansion plans within the Norwegian market.
With this combination of facilities, equipment and specialized personnel, Pipetech seeks to increase its capacity to provide flow maintenance and remediation services near Norway’s main offshore assets.
The new infrastructure also allows certain customer equipment to be transported to Sandnes for technical work outside of production facilities. This approach complements on-site work and expands the options available to North Sea operators.
