Lectron launches Nexus level 2 home chargers for electric vehicles a family of equipment developed using engineering and validation processes typically employed in original equipment manufacturer (OEM) programs for the automotive industry. The company seeks to strengthen its presence in the residential segment with solutions designed to offer continuous operation and high reliability.
Lectron launches Nexus for residential charging
The new Nexus platform is designed to meet the daily charging needs of electric vehicles in homes. According to the company, the hardware has been designed to withstand sustained electrical loads, repetitive usage cycles, and prolonged exposure to different environmental conditions.
The range is available in four standards-compatible configurations, SAE J3400 (NACS) and J1772 this allows us to cover a wide variety of electric vehicle models currently on the market.
Among the available versions is a wired model of 48 amps, capable of providing up to 74 kilometers of range per hour of charge and a plug-in version of 40 amps with connection NO 14-50, which reaches up to 61 kilometers per hour of charging.
Engineering based on OEM programs
One of the highlighted aspects of the Nexus line is the incorporation of an electrical architecture developed following criteria used in projects intended for car manufacturers.
The design integrates power distribution systems, optimized PCB layout, and thermal management solutions aimed at maintaining consistent performance during extended high-intensity load sessions.
Likewise, all equipment operates on a power supply of 240 volts they incorporate a flexible cable of approximately seven meters and have protection IP66 a feature that allows its installation both indoors and outdoors.
Certifications and validation tests
Lectron reported that the Nexus chargers have the necessary certifications UL 2594, UL 2231, UL 2251 and UL 817, standards widely used to assess the safety of charging equipment intended for electric vehicles.
During the validation process, the company subjected the equipment to tests that included thermal cycles between -30 °C y 50 °C continuous operation at rated current, more than 10,000 connection cycles and mechanical impact tests to verify the system’s resistance.
An offer that expands Lectron’s catalog
Christopher Maiwald, CEO of Lectron, stated that the Nexus platform incorporates the same engineering and validation standards used by the company in its programs for automotive manufacturers and is designed to deliver stable operation under typical residential charging conditions.
With this launch, Lectron expands its catalog of electric mobility solutions, which includes adapters, portable chargers, home charging stations and accessories compatible with the standards NACS, CCS and J1772, in a market that continues to increase demand for electric vehicle charging infrastructure.
