IKM Acona was selected by Vår Energi ASA to provide drilling and well maintenance services on the Norwegian continental shelf, through a framework agreement that will have an initial duration of four years with options for extension for two additional two-year periods.
The contract includes technical support and specialized advice for drilling and well operations, including engineering studies, development of procedures, operational reports and comprehensive support for offshore projects.
The agreement strengthens Vår Energi’s offshore operations
According to information provided by both companies, the scope of work covers activities related to subsurface operations, water intake from drilling platforms, drilling, completion, well testing, intervention, well integrity, and plugging operations.
Likewise, the services will be executed mainly from land through integrated engineering and project support, a modality that seeks to optimize operational safety and the efficiency of offshore activities in Norway.

Multidisciplinary support for drilling projects
The company indicated that it will deploy multidisciplinary teams focused on providing independent support to Vår Energi’s operations, with an emphasis on technical quality and execution capacity.
The agreement will also allow the energy operator flexible access to drilling and well maintenance specialists to support its offshore campaigns in the North Sea.
According to IKM Acona, the experience accumulated in well engineering projects and drilling operations was one of the key factors in securing the contract.
Offshore drilling activity continues to grow in Norway
The awarding of the agreement comes amid strong offshore activity on the Norwegian continental shelf, where operators and suppliers continue to bolster investments in exploration, production and maintenance of energy infrastructure.
Vår Energi currently maintains an active portfolio of drilling and well development projects in Norway, which increases the demand for specialized technical support and integrated engineering solutions.
With this contract, IKM Acona reinforces its presence in the offshore oil and gas services segment and strengthens its participation in projects linked to drilling and well exploitation operations in the region.
