China’s CH-YH1000 transport drone, developed by Aerospace CH UAV Co. Ltd., marked a major breakthrough in air logistics by successfully completing a fully-loaded taxiing test. The test, conducted at Zhanghe Airport in Hubei Province, demonstrated the drone’s ability to operate in real-world conditions and its potential to transform delivery in remote regions.
Technology, security and autonomy of the Chinese transport drone
The CH-YH1000 features a high-wing design with two engines and a foldable front door, allowing for fast and efficient loading. It also features a bottom hatch for specialized tasks such as firefighting or emergency deliveries. Based on technology used in the CH-3D drone, its control system is highly reliable, ensuring safe operations even in harsh conditions.
During testing, the drone carried a payload of 1,000 kilograms , standing out for its stability and maneuverability. With a speed of up to 200 km/h and the ability to operate at altitudes of 8,000 meters, this unmanned aerial vehicle can perform long-duration missions of up to 10 hours, making it ideal for delivering supplies in areas with limited infrastructure.
The CH-YH1000 is equipped with advanced cyber-attack countermeasures and an automatic return system in case of interference. In addition, its sensor-based autonomous flight technology allows it to operate efficiently both day and night, maximizing its use at any time.
Impact on logistics and economy
Aimed at reducing logistics costs and improving delivery times in remote regions such as Xinjiang and Xizang, this drone aims to become a key solution for China’s low-altitude economy. Its implementation promises to transform distribution in hard-to-reach places, optimizing the supply chain and facilitating e-commerce.
