The American company Traini, specialized in artificial intelligence applied to animal behavior, announced a strategic alliance with global smart device manufacturer TECNO to natively integrate technology capable of interpreting pets’ emotions and needs directly from a smartphone.

The new feature incorporates the multimodal model developed by Traini into TECNO smartphones, allowing for the analysis of vocalizations, facial expressions, body posture, behavior, and environmental context to offer the user a natural language interpretation of their pet’s possible emotional state.

The integration represents a shift from independent animal monitoring applications by directly leveraging the mobile device’s microphone, camera, and AI processing capabilities.

Multimodal AI for understanding animal behavior

The system developed by Traini combines multiple real-time information sources to interpret signals from dogs of more than 120 breeds, using a proprietary dataset built through continuous learning, specialized annotation, and feedback from millions of users.

When the phone detects a bark or a specific behavior, the model simultaneously analyzes visual, acoustic, and contextual variables to estimate if the animal is experiencing states such as anxiety, excitement, alertness, loneliness, or a need for attention.

According to the company, this multimodal approach improves interpretation compared to systems that analyze only sounds or images in isolation.

Smartphones expand the reach of artificial intelligence

For TECNO, the integration incorporates a new functional category within mobile artificial intelligence, traditionally focused on voice recognition, image processing, and digital assistants.

The company believes that the global growth of pet ownership opens opportunities to develop smart experiences aimed at animal welfare, leveraging the sensors already present in smartphones.

In addition to this function, both companies plan to explore applications related to behavioral monitoring via cameras, preventive alerts on animal health, connected devices, and AI-generated content for pet owners.

A platform that transcends the pet market

Traini stated that this integration is part of a broader strategy to offer animal intelligence services through APIs aimed at device manufacturers, automotive companies, insurers, veterinary health companies, and IoT solution developers.

The company also promotes other products such as the PetGPT platform and the Sentra wearable device,

aimed at continuous monitoring of companion animal behavior.

Its objective is to develop an infrastructure capable of interpreting emotions and behavioral patterns of non-human species using multimodal artificial intelligence models.
