The international corporation Subsea7 announced the award of a major commercial agreement by Murphy Exploration & Production Company. This project is intended for the development of the String Music field, located in the Gulf of Mexico, under a financial framework ranging between $50 million and $150 million.
The contract for the development of the Delta House complex
The operational scope includes the engineering, procurement, construction, and offshore installation of a production pipeline. Likewise, the related subsea infrastructure will be implemented to connect the system to the Delta House complex, specifically located in Mississippi Canyon 431, where operational water depths reach 1,850 m.
Regarding the project schedule, project management activities and the associated engineering will begin immediately at the company’s facilities in Houston, Texas. Offshore logistical and structural operations are scheduled for 2027.
Craig Broussard, Senior Vice President of the company’s U.S. division, stated that this award clearly reflects the strength of the collaborative approach maintained with the energy operator. The executive emphasized the development of a standardized delivery model that increases predictability and accelerates the technical execution of projects.
Consequently, operational optimization in the String Music fields seeks to establish an efficiency standard applicable to future developments in the offshore basin. The joint methodologies implemented will reduce response times and ensure safe integration into existing subsea flow networks.
