After consolidating its financial and operational position since its spin-off from Siemens AG, the German company Siemens Energy announced the start of the process to adopt Omterra as its new global corporate identity. The transition will begin in late 2026 and will be implemented gradually, integrating the operations of Siemens Energy and Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy under a single brand.
The company clarified that the change responds to the progressive expiration of the license agreement to use the Siemens brand and does not modify its commercial strategy, technology, or commitments to customers, partners, and employees.
Christian Bruch, CEO of the company, explained that the organization has reached a sufficiently strong position to build its own identity, supported by improved profitability, greater market confidence, and a growth plan for the coming years.
According to Siemens Energy, the name Omterra was selected for its international reach and for representing the combination of global presence, technological innovation, and commitment to a reliable energy supply.
More Than a Corporate Image Change
Although the announcement may be interpreted as an identity update, the process has a much deeper strategic component.
Since its separation from Siemens AG in 2020, Siemens Energy continued to operate under a temporary license to use the group’s historical brand. The launch of Omterra represents the culmination of that business independence and the construction of its own intangible asset, detached from the inherited prestige of Siemens.
In corporate terms, an independent brand allows for the development of commercial strategies, technological positioning, acquisitions, and international expansion without relying on license agreements or the identity of the parent company.
Unification of All Business Lines
The new identity will also integrate Siemens Gamesa Renewable Energy, consolidating activities related to conventional generation, power transmission, energy storage, and renewable energies under a single brand.
The company maintains one of the broadest technological portfolios in the energy sector, including: gas and steam turbines; hydrogen-ready hybrid power plants; transformers and electrical transmission equipment; energy storage solutions; onshore and offshore wind generation.
With approximately 105,000 employees in over 90 countries and revenues close to 39.1 billion euros during the 2025 fiscal year, the company believes its international dimension already justifies its own corporate identity.
The Transition Will Be Gradual
The brand replacement process will begin in the coming months and will include the progressive updating of facilities, technical documentation, digital platforms, and corporate communications.
The company insisted that the transition will not affect contracts, products, services, or the existing organizational structure.
