ENERCON GmbH and RBI Raiffeisen Bauträger- und Immobilien GmbH signed a contract for the supply and installation of 25 E-175 EP5 E2 wind turbines, intended for a new large-scale onshore wind project in Lorup, Germany.
The development will reach a total installed capacity of 175 MW and builds on the experience of a previous repowering project completed between 2024 and 2025, in which 17 older turbines were replaced by 10 modern E-175 EP5 E1 units.
The company develops integrated solutions for onshore wind projects, from planning and installation to operation, maintenance, and performance optimization.
The project will be distributed across three sites
The wind turbines will be installed at three locations within the project area. Mammoor will have 9 turbines with a capacity of 63 MW; Hassmoor will include 12 turbines to reach 84 MW; and Glümmel will add 4 turbines with 28 MW.
In addition to turbine assembly, the contract includes the construction of a substation and foundation works. The units will have a hub height of 162 meters, enabling better use of the wind regimes available in the area.
Construction is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2027, according to the timeline announced by the companies.
The E-175 platform strengthens the project
The wind farm will use the E-175 EP5 E2 model, one of ENERCON’s most powerful onshore turbines.
This platform features a 175-meter rotor and a rated power of 7 MW, designed to improve productivity in large-scale onshore projects.
ENERCON stated that the choice of this platform is due to its performance and its ability to strengthen the project’s competitiveness. The company also reported that plans are already being developed for a possible expansion with six additional turbines of the same model.
The contract confirms the progress of the E-175 platform within the German market, where ENERCON seeks to increase its presence through repowering projects and new onshore wind farms.
RBI highlights ENERCON’s performance
Alexander Hackmann, Managing Director of RBI Raiffeisen Bauträger- und Immobilien GmbH, noted that ENERCON’s performance in the previous project was decisive in continuing the collaboration in this new expansion phase.
Meanwhile, Lennard von Dollen, ENERCON’s Sales Director for Northern Germany, thanked RBI for its renewed trust and emphasized that the project will help further drive innovation and joint development in onshore wind energy.
Project planning and execution also involve Revento, an entity mentioned by ENERCON as part of the collaborating team.
Germany adds onshore wind capacity
The new project in Lorup strengthens the deployment of onshore wind energy in Germany, a key market for Europe’s energy transition. With 175 MW of planned capacity, the facility will help increase renewable generation and modernize the existing wind infrastructure.
ENERCON has more than 40 years of experience in renewable energy and exceeds 65 GW of installed capacity worldwide.
With this agreement, ENERCON and RBI move forward into a new stage of collaboration aimed at expanding Germany’s renewable capacity through high-performance turbines and larger-scale onshore projects.
