The relevance of this contract lies in the operational stability it provides to the Delfin FLNG1 plant. Under this agreement, Delfin will supply 0.3 million tonnes per annum of LNG on an FOB basis.

This arrangement allows Gunvor to manage transportation from the terminal located 40 nautical miles offshore, optimizing its maritime logistics and reinforcing its role as one of the world’s largest independent traders.

Furthermore, Delfin’s infrastructure stands out for its ability to utilize low-cost floating technological solutions in deep-water ports. The company has successfully leveraged pre-existing industrial sites and pipelines such as the UTOS to minimize the investment required for new works.

Operational efficiency allows the project to scale up to three FLNG vessels with a potential production of 13.2 million metric tonnes per annum of liquefied natural gas.

This alliance benefits both parties strategically. On one hand, Gunvor expands its portfolio of energy assets and secures supply for its global fleet. On the other hand, Delfin confirms its position as a reliable and scalable provider in a context where the demand for clean energy is a priority.
