CoreMarine and Jumbo Offshore Awarded Landmark Project

The project will be CoreMarine's first FLNG development and the company's largest contract in Latin America.

Technical Enhancement Implemented

The contract was awarded by Southern Energy SA (SESA) and includes the transport, installation, and connection of flexible yoke mooring systems for the Hilli Episeyo FLNG and MKII FLNG units.

The operation will take place in San Matías Gulf and represents one of the most strategic projects for Argentina’s gas infrastructure.

The alliance between CoreMarine and Jumbo Offshore combines engineering, offshore logistics, heavy transport, and subsea installation into a single execution scheme. This integrated approach is relevant because it reduces operational friction and concentrates technical capabilities within a single value chain.

Flexible Yoke Mooring Systems (SSY)

The project will utilize SSY systems supplied by NOV, designed to allow FLNG units to rotate around a single mooring point. This configuration enables them to align with environmental conditions and eliminates the need for fixed infrastructure such as jetties.

From a technical strategy perspective, this solution is particularly valuable for floating liquefied natural gas projects, as it enhances operational flexibility and reduces costly onshore requirements. For Argentina, incorporating this technology for the first time adds a component of industrial innovation and international relevance.

Superior Operational Performance

CoreMarine will lead the project and subcontract Jumbo Offshore for the transport and installation of the SSY system, including heavy lifting and piloting. Additionally, CoreMarine will undertake diving activities, construction, spool installation, ballasting, riser connection, and commissioning.

The offshore campaign will involve highly complex simultaneous operations, with several support vessels, tugs, and specialized assets. This technically complex project is a large-scale engineering endeavor with very high logistical and safety demands.

Direct Impact on Operational Efficiency

Project engineering and management began in January 2026, while the installation of Hilli Episeyo is scheduled for 2027 and MKII for 2028. This sequence marks a significant technical advancement for expanding gas export capacity from Argentina.

It is also significant that the project is CoreMarine’s first FLNG development and the company’s largest contract in Latin America.

For Jumbo Offshore, in contrast, it reinforces its position as a global player in SSY installations and floating energy infrastructure.
