Chevron appoints Uriel Oseguera as new treasurer

Uriel Oseguera will assume the treasurer position at Chevron on November 1st following the retirement of Navin Mahajan.

Chevron will reorganize part of its finance team with the appointment of Uriel Oseguera as treasurer of the company from November 1, 2026.

The executive will succeed Navin Mahajan, who will leave the company after a career of almost 30 years, with this move, the US oil company is preparing a transition in one of the positions directly linked to its financial strategy and capital management.

Oseguera will assume the treasury position at Chevron

As the new treasurer of Chevron Oseguera will be in charge of activities related to capital markets, corporate finance, insurance, credit and risk management.

In addition, the executive will report directly to Eimear Bonner, Chevron’s chief financial officer, who currently holds the position of vice president of Performance and Finance for the company’s Exploration and Production business.

In this way, the appointment brings to the treasury an executive who knows both the company’s financial structure and its Upstream operations.

According to Bonner, Oseguera’s experience in corporate finance, capital markets, and international leadership brings a relevant perspective to risk management, financial discipline, and long-term value creation.

An international career since 1990

Oseguera joined Chevron in 1990 and has since spent much of his career within the energy company, over the decades, she has held positions related to finance, treasury, and planning in Venezuela, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, and the United States. This experience has allowed her to work both in corporate areas and in the various regions where Chevron operates.

Before assuming his current responsibility in Exploration and Production, Oseguera was general manager of the company’s Shared Financial Services organization.

Regarding his education, he holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from California State Polytechnic University in San Luis Obispo and an MBA from Saint Mary’s College in California.

Navin Mahajan retires after nearly 30 years at Chevron

Navin Mahajan, meanwhile, will leave the company after nearly three decades with the company, the executive has held the position of treasurer since 2019.

During his career he also held leadership positions in treasury, finance, regulatory compliance and various Chevron business organizations internationally.

Bonner highlighted Mahajan’s experience, integrity, and decision-making skills throughout his time with the company. He also emphasized his work in handling complex financial situations and his contributions to the organization.

The transition will thus leave the treasury under the direction of an executive trained over more than three decades within the company, with international experience and direct knowledge of the business oil and gas of the company.
