  1. About the new RoRo vessels

Louis Dreyfus Armateurs (LDA) has officially started construction of the first of three low-emission RoRo vessels to be leased to Airbus . The steel cutting ceremony took place on 24 October at the CSSC shipyard in Wuchang, China, with representatives from LDA, the shipyard and Bureau Veritas in attendance.

About the new RoRo vessels

These 167-metre vessels are designed to reduce the environmental impact of transporting aircraft components for Airbus. Equipped with advanced technology, such as six rotary sails from Norsepower , dual methanol engines from Wartsila and a waste heat conversion system, the vessels reflect both companies’ commitment to sustainability.

LDA and Airbus expect these innovations to significantly reduce emissions on each voyage. The ships are scheduled to enter service in 2026 , marking a major step forward in the shipping industry towards cleaner transport solutions.
