LNG is recognized for its lower environmental impact compared to traditional fuels used in the maritime sector, as it significantly reduces emissions of CO₂ and other pollutants. Furthermore, even greener alternatives are being explored, such as Liquefied Biogas (LBG) , which promises to be a completely fossil- free option.
This initiative is part of a joint effort between several key organizations, including Gasum , LOGENT PORTS & TERMINALS AB, Transportstyrelsen, Höegh Autoliners, Sirius LNG and the Port of Gothenburg , who have worked together to ensure safe and efficient operations at the terminal.
With this expansion of its alternative fuel infrastructure, the Port is making steady progress toward its goal of promoting more sustainable maritime transport and reducing the sector’s carbon footprint.
