Grenergy has launched a new reverse auction in the Chilean market to market 1.7 TWh of energy annually from its photovoltaic parks and battery storage systems. This transaction will be carried out through GR Power, its commercial arm in Chile, and channeled through the Match Energía platform.

Solar energy auction aimed at large consumers

This call is aimed at generators, large consumers, and retailers with energy requirements for the period between the first half of 2026 and the first half of 2027. Of the total offered, 1,400 GWh will correspond to energy stored and injected during the night, while the remaining 300 GWh will come from daytime solar generation .

With this auction, Grenergy reiterates its innovative model launched in 2022, when it was the first company in Latin America to hold a reverse auction for renewable energy . This mechanism allows for optimized purchase and sale prices in a context of increasing electrification and decarbonization.

Leadership in energy infrastructure in Chile

The company has been present in Chile for over 12 years, establishing itself as the developer with the largest number of renewable energy facilities built in the country . Its assets include the Oasis de Atacama project , considered one of the largest battery systems on the planet, with a storage capacity of 18.3 GWh and an installed solar capacity of 4.1 GW.

The auction will be open until May 6, with all transactions managed within the national electricity market. The company emphasizes that this format contributes to greater efficiency in the integration of renewables and helps attract new energy solutions.
