The shipping company Esvagt is directing its objectives in the search for solutions that are carbon neutral and environmentally friendly. The implementation of e-methanol on its ships is an innovative strategy capable of meeting the objectives.

The vessel is powered by batteries and dual-fuel and pure methanol engines The ship is powered by batteries and dual fuel engines and pure methanol, using renewable e-methanol produced from wind energy and biogenic carbon. This will reduce annual emissions by approximately 4,500 tons of CO₂, reaffirming itself as a model of carbon neutral operations and opening a new era for “green ships”.

At 93 meters in length, this vessel will offer accommodation for 124 guests and will meet DNV’s strict classification standards, sailing under the Danish flag. It will serve the world’s largest offshore wind farm, Hornsea 2, located in the North Sea off the coast of Yorkshire, UK.

Esvagt’s vessel will feature high quality accommodations and dedicated recreational spaces. It will also provide an efficient and safe working environment, facilitating the transfer of technicians to the wind farm by means of a motion-compensated walkway, transfer boats and a crane to handle heavy spare parts.
