Progress at the Thor wind farm

To date, EEW SPC has delivered 15 of the 36 monopiles required to support the offshore wind turbines . These monopiles, which measure 82 meters in length and weigh 1,300 tons each, feature their innovative transition piece (TP)-free design, allowing the towers to be mounted directly onto the support bases, eliminating the need for additional elements.

The delivery and loading of these monopiles are underway at the Port of Rostock, with the goal of completing the remaining shipments by mid-2025 . This progress marks a significant milestone in the construction of the wind farm , which is expected to be fully operational by 2027.

The RWE-backed Thor wind farm will be a key component of Denmark’s energy transition, helping the country achieve its sustainability goals while contributing to the supply of clean, reliable electricity.
