Wison New Energies formalized the signing of the engineering, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning contract for the third phase of the oil and gas project, the Baleine FPSO. The award, granted by the operator Eni and the firm Altera Infrastructure, consolidates the Asian company’s participation in energy development after having completed the previous basic engineering.

The Baleine offshore field constitutes a key development in the West African region. The incorporation of the contracting company spans from initial design to the execution of the complete operational scheme, validating its response capacity in complex offshore infrastructure.

The floating unit will operate at a depth range oscillating between 800 and 1,200 meters below sea level. The structural design features a length of 308 meters, a width of 57 meters, and a depth of 29.8 meters. The system has a projected minimum operational lifespan of 20 years under high-demand conditions.

In terms of processing, the platform will process a daily volume of 90,000 barrels of crude oil, 80,000 barrels of produced water, and 160 million standard cubic feet of natural gas. This capacity positions the infrastructure as a fundamental axis for the utilization of hydrocarbon resources in the area.

The Italian corporation Eni leads the overall development of the field in Ivory Coast, while Altera Infrastructure acts as the owner and direct manager of the floating platform. The latter company previously participated in the refurbishment and deployment of the storage units arranged for the second phase of the same field.

Furthermore, the current signing ratifies the level of confidence that the international market places in the contracting company’s supply chain management. Wison New Energies’ executive management highlighted that advanced project management structures will be used to ensure the successful delivery of the work within the stipulated parameters.

The technological implementation of this third phase seeks to provide efficient energy solutions that reduce the environmental footprint of extraction operations. The organization focuses its operational capabilities toward the construction of safe, profitable systems compatible with the transition to a low-carbon environment.
