Recently, Weatherford was selected by Ventura Offshore to implement an advanced pressure management system on the SSV Victoria platform. This initiative aims to optimize production activities in the Búzios field, one of the most promising areas in the region.

The implementation of MPD technology at the Búzios field

First, the agreement provides for the delivery of a comprehensive pressure-controlled drilling solution known as MPD technology. The supply includes the G3 Integrated Riser Joint system, a technology designed to address the complex pressure profiles characteristic of deepwater wells. This type of equipment makes drilling more predictable and safer for personnel and the environment.

It is also important to note that the service goes beyond simply installing equipment. Weatherford will be responsible for post-sales maintenance and the full integration of the system under a turnkey implementation model. This approach reduces operational interfaces and the risks associated with offshore logistics. Furthermore, the presence of local technical teams in Brazil ensures ongoing support to maximize the useful life of the assets.

Meanwhile, leaders from both organizations have expressed their satisfaction with this partnership. Girish Saligram, a representative of the supplier firm, noted that this contract reaffirms the market’s confidence in their technical capabilities. Similarly, Guilherme Coelho, a member of Ventura Offshore’s management team, emphasized that the integration of these solutions is vital to maintaining high performance standards on the SSV Victoria.

Finally, this project strengthens the position of energy service companies in Brazil’s pre-salt region. The implementation of advanced engineering and digital support leads to more informed decisions during drilling. With this contract award, the offshore sector takes a significant step toward more efficient and technologically advanced production in one of the world’s most important basins.
