DOF Group ASA has secured a major contract for subsea construction services and pre-commissioning support in the APAC region. The operation will be carried out by the vessel Skandi Inventor and will commence in the fourth quarter of 2026 in waters off northern Australia.
The agreement strengthens the Norwegian company’s presence in the Asia-Pacific offshore market, where demand for specialized vessels, marine engineering and logistical support continues to gain strength.
The Skandi Inventor will operate in Australian waters
According to information released by DOF, the Skandi Inventor will be deployed to carry out offshore operations associated with underwater construction and pre-commissioning support services.
Furthermore, the scope of the contract includes internal project management, engineering, procurement, and logistical support. These services will be coordinated by DOF as part of a campaign estimated to last between 160 and 250 days.
The company defines this type of large contract as an agreement valued between $50 million and $100 million, a figure that confirms the commercial relevance of the award for its business in APAC.
Increased underwater activity in the APAC region
Furthermore, the contract strengthens the Skandi Inventor’s workload following its arrival in the APAC region in early 2026. According to DOF, the vessel now maintains a solid workload in the area towards the end of 2027.
Mons Aase, CEO of DOF Group ASA, highlighted the sustained demand for the vessel and the company’s technical capabilities. He also noted that the company will continue to deliver safe, efficient, and internationally accessible underwater and maritime services.
DOF reinforces its offshore image
DOF Group ASA is a global provider of offshore and subsea services for the energy industry. Its operation combines a modern fleet of offshore and subsea vessels with engineering capabilities to develop integrated services in different markets.
