The ROSEN Group was awarded the Business Innovation Award at the Gas Industry Awards 2026 for its Non-Intrusive Pipeline Assessment (NIPA) service, an advanced solution based on artificial intelligence and data analysis for pipeline integrity management.
The ceremony, organized by the Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM) and the Energy & Utilities Alliance (EUA), was held in London on May 13, 2026, and recognized organizations developing new technologies capable of transforming the energy industry.
NIPA was designed to overcome the limitations of traditional direct assessment methods in pipelines that are internally unpiggable or highly complex.
The solution integrates information from field studies such as CIPS and DCVG with ROSEN’s patented Large Stand-off Magnetometry (LSM) technology and predictive models powered by artificial intelligence.

The system also utilizes a global database with more than 26,000 in-line inspections along with environmental data such as soil types, rainfall, slopes, roads, rivers, and population density. This combination enables increased reliability in anomaly detection and optimizes decision-making related to corrosion and operational safety.
According to ROSEN, during 2025 the service was deployed across more than 700 kilometers of pipelines using ground-based equipment and data capture via drones.
In one of the implementations, NIPA successfully detected significant metal loss that had not been previously identified and required repair to ensure safe operation.

Lewis Barton, NIPA service manager at ROSEN, stated that the award recognizes “the delivery of a robust, auditable solution aligned with international standards,” emphasizing that the company seeks to build confidence through solid governance and consistent results.
For his part, Jabbar Mirzoev, Vice President of NDT Service Line at ROSEN, noted that the recognition reflects the multidisciplinary work among engineers, data scientists, and field specialists to transform an idea into a globally deployed solution.
The jury particularly highlighted the measurable impact of the technology, the commitment to research and development, and the successful application of innovation in real operations. With this recognition, ROSEN strengthens its position as a global leader in integrity management of critical energy infrastructure.
