Ras Laffan, strategic axis of the energy sector
The Ras Laffan Industrial City is home to some of the world’s most important natural gas processing and export facilities. The complex plays a crucial role in Qatar’energy value chain and in supplying gas to both the domestic market and international customers.
Within this industrial ecosystem, the Barzan plant is a key infrastructure for the processing and distribution of natural gas. For this reason, any operational incident at its facilities is typically closely monitored by stakeholders in the energy sector.
QatarEnergy will continue to update the information
For the time being, QatarEnergy indicated that it will continue to provide information as the investigation progresses and new data on the incident becomes available.
Likewise, the authorities and technical teams continue to monitor the affected area to ensure safe conditions before the complete normalization of activities related to the start-up of operations.
