FARO CREAFORM’s EVO portable 3D scanner received the prestigious Red Dot Award in the product design category, an international recognition that highlights the invention, functionality and ergonomics of high-performance industrial solutions.
The manufacturer specializing in portable 3D scanning and industrial metrology announced that this distinction strengthens the position of the HandySCAN 3D line as one of the market benchmarks in dimensional inspection and three-dimensional data capture.
A portable 3D scanner designed for industrial environments
The HandySCAN 3D EVO series was developed to offer greater mobility and efficiency in industrial inspection, maintenance, and quality control applications. The device incorporates an integrated 4.3-inch touchscreen that allows for real-time information viewing without constantly relying on a laptop.
The device also includes an optimized graphical interface to simplify operation during 3D scanning processes. Its architecture integrates three physical navigation buttons and a directional distance indicator that helps the operator maintain accurate capture during inspection.
Another highlight of the design is its compact and lightweight structure along with an industrial push-pull connection system that improves weight distribution and facilitates continuous use in the plant.

In addition to technical performance, the award jury valued aesthetic and functional elements such as the heat sink’s protective grille, the discreet side protectors, and the device’s non-slip matte black finish.

The Red Dot Awards have a history spanning over seven decades and are considered one of the most prestigious distinctions in industrial design worldwide. Each year, international experts evaluate thousands of products based on criteria such as invention, functionality, ergonomics, and formal quality.
With this new recognition, FARO CREAFORM adds its sixth Red Dot award for the HandySCAN 3D line, strengthening its presence in the segment of portable 3D scanning solutions for advanced manufacturing, aerospace, automotive and industrial research.
