Juniper Green Energy expanded its renewable generation capacity with new wind farms in Gujarat, Maharashtra, and Rajasthan, the company brought 101 MW of new wind power capacity online in India during the first half of September, these assets are part of hybrid solar and wind projects, as well as firm and dispatchable renewable energy (FDRE) initiatives. With these additions, the company’s operational portfolio now stands at 2,689 MW of solar and wind capacity, in addition to 503 MWh of battery energy storage systems.
Juniper Green Energy expands its wind projects in Gujarat
A significant portion of the new capacity is concentrated in Gujarat, the company commissioned a 45 MW wind component corresponding to Phase I of its GUVNL hybrid project, and the company also added another 40 MW of wind generation belonging to Phase II. Both facilities are connected to the Charadva GETCO substation.
With these additions, 145 MW of the 150 MW planned for Phase I of the GUVNL hybrid project are now operational, in Phase II, 70 MW of a total planned capacity of 120 MW are in operation, these advancements are part of a portfolio that combines solar and wind power generation with the aim of expanding the available renewable capacity.
MSEDCL’s hybrid project reaches full capacity
Juniper Green Energy also completed the commissioning of the 75 MW contracted capacity with MSEDCL, activating the final 10 MW wind component at the Chapalgaon site in Maharashtra, the hybrid project comprises 75 MW of solar power and 25 MW of hydropower wind energy with the projects now operational, the company completed this development more than two months ahead of the scheduled date for commercial operation, at the same time, the company continues to advance its portfolios linked to GUVNL and SJVN under the FDRE scheme.
The renewable portfolio reaches 2689 MW
The commissioning of the new wind farms strengthens Juniper Green Energy’s presence in various Indian electricity markets, the company develops, builds, and operates commercial-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, hybrid systems, and dispatchable supply solutions. Juniper Green Energy has been developing renewable assets in India since October 2018. Its operations cover various stages of the project lifecycle, from planning and development to construction and subsequent operation, with the 101 MW of wind capacity added in September, the company continues to convert part of its contracted portfolio into operational generation capacity while expanding its hybrid and dispatchable renewable energy projects.
