The companies Omega Subsea and AGR have formalized an agreement that includes an initial contractual period of two years with extension options to optimize the execution of complex subsea service campaigns. Through this joint effort, both companies seek to unify maritime operations, remotely operated vehicle (ROV) services, and marine survey expertise.
Subsea Services, Infrastructure, and Operational Vessels
According to the established terms, the technical deployment will focus primarily on two specialized vessels in the fleet. The company will supply integrated ROV capabilities of professional class, qualified technical personnel, and subsea support equipment aboard the vessel Aquaman II. Likewise, the organization will provide specialized survey services aboard the Ross Eagle to support the growth of AGR’s activities in the region.
With respect to the integrated naval assets, the Aquaman II stands out as a multipurpose offshore support vessel measuring 89.3 meters in length, built in 2005 and configured to support demanding operations. This flexible platform enables the execution of plugging, well abandonment, and cabling campaigns. Additionally, the work scheme facilitates the completion of decommissioning projects in a highly active and demanding marine environment.
On the other hand, the logistical management and operational support of the project will be centralized from the infrastructure that Omega Subsea possesses in the locality of Bergen. The technical teams will utilize the company’s Remote Operations Center (ROC) to perform real-time monitoring tasks, specialized technical assistance, and data transfer. This technological configuration ensures a direct communication channel between offshore personnel and onshore specialists to guarantee efficient resource mobilization.
