Oceanscan Group officially inaugurated its new facilities in Aberdeen, Scotland, marking a significant step within its expansion strategy in the offshore markets of the United Kingdom and Europe.
The new headquarters, located in Dyce, features 1,200 m² of space and more than doubles the operational capacity of the company’s previous facility in Bridge of Don, used for over 35 years.
Facility Incorporates Advanced NDT Capabilities
The new facilities include specialized areas for state-of-the-art non-destructive testing (NDT) and subsea calibration, strengthening Oceanscan’s capacity to support offshore campaigns through faster mobilization and more efficient service delivery.
The company indicated that the infrastructure was specifically designed to respond to growing demand in offshore projects within the United Kingdom and Europe.
In addition to Oceanscan’s technical capabilities, the new headquarters brings together under one roof complementary services from companies belonging to the Venterra group, including INSPIRE Environmental and HPR.
Oceanscan Expands Operational Capacity and Job Creation
Oceanscan’s workforce in Aberdeen currently reached 57 employees, although the new facility was designed to accommodate up to 30 additional positions in areas such as: engineering, operations, sales, finance.
The company emphasized that this expansion reflects Venterra Group’s commitment to strengthening technical capabilities and generating specialized employment in Scotland.
INSPIRE Environmental is also developing its own local team in Aberdeen as part of the group’s regional growth.
Venterra Integrates Specialized Offshore Services
INSPIRE Environmental offers services related to marine infrastructure, including: benthic and fisheries surveys, subsea acoustics, nature-based design, advanced environmental data management.
For its part, HPR provides specialized personnel and regulatory compliance for offshore energy projects.
These companies complement other firms within the Venterra group such as Partrac and GeoForce, forming an integrated marine services offering for the European offshore sector.
Oceanscan Strengthens International Growth
During the inaugural event held on May 21, Oceanscan Group CEO Derek Donaldson noted that the new facilities represent a strategic step to support offshore growth in Scotland, the United Kingdom, and Europe.
“With more space, more equipment, and greater capacity under one roof, we are in an ideal position to provide support for offshore campaigns,” stated Donaldson.
The company also highlighted that Oceanscan’s subsea business doubled in size during the past year, laying the foundation for continued growth through 2026.
With international operations also in Houston and Singapore, the new Aberdeen headquarters seeks to consolidate Oceanscan’s capacity to serve both regional and global offshore projects.
