Accordingly, the multinational will assume responsibility for providing a comprehensive strategy covering logistics, transport, seabed placement, and the subsequent activation of a previously refurbished subsea umbilical. Likewise, the operations include the supply and tie-in of a thermoplastic closed-loop pipeline extending 2,000 meters in length.
Regarding the origin of the components, the umbilical system refurbishment work was carried out at the company’s industrial complex in Rosyth, United Kingdom. Likewise, deployment in the Egyptian offshore area will be supported operationally by remotely operated vehicles and specialized technical verification services to ensure the viability of the environment.
Due to current market demands, the schedule established for executing the works in the Mediterranean will be carried out under an accelerated approach. As explained by Chris Dyer, Senior Vice President of the corporation’s projects division, this award confirms the company’s competitiveness in structuring advanced services within critical time windows in order to restore the field’s commercial activity.
Finally, the single-provider model implemented by the entity seeks to mitigate operational risks through the centralization of supply management, support from specialized vessels, and robotic inspections. Through this organizational scheme, the local operator aims to optimize financial investment and consolidate hydrocarbon extraction infrastructure in the African region.
