The company Naturgy has commenced operations at six new photovoltaic plants distributed between the provinces of Seville and Jaén, allowing the group to increase its operational renewable energy capacity to over 600 MW in southern Spain. This expansion represents a doubling of its presence in the territory through an investment exceeding 260 million euros.

The new facilities are designed to integrate battery storage systems, a technology that allows for much more efficient electricity management. This development ensures that the energy generated by the sun can be used even when the sky is overcast or during the night, providing necessary stability to the national electricity system.
In the Sevillian towns of Carmona and Alcalá de Guadaíra, the commencement of operations has been confirmed for the Encarnaciones, Sol Morón, La Romera, and Los Mangos parks. Each of these complexes contributes 50 MW of power. Furthermore, in Andújar, the Andújar I and Andújar III plants are injecting clean energy into the grid following their recent inauguration.
During the construction phase, more than 1,300 direct and indirect jobs were generated. Likewise, the company ensures the maintenance of nearly twenty permanent jobs for the daily operation of these assets throughout their useful life.
Furthermore, there are more than 20 additional projects in various stages of processing that will be completed before the end of 2027. The objective is to maintain a transition toward a more sustainable model by integrating storage across its entire renewable portfolio. Such flexibility is fundamental for Andalusia to strengthen its energy sovereignty and reduce dependence on external factors.
The firm’s presence in the region is comprehensive. In addition to the photovoltaic market, they operate wind farms, gas distribution networks, and combined cycle plants. A diversified structure allows Naturgy to serve more than half a million Andalusian customers, consolidating a supply network of more than 5,700 kilometers.
