US Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm said Wednesday that any oil and gas company that can increase supplies must do so quickly because of the growing energy crisis.

“We are in an emergency situation and we have to responsibly increase supply in the short term, where we can right now, to stabilize the market and minimize the damage to American families,” the senior official said during the CERAWeek energy conference, held in Houston (Texas), collects Fox Business. “And that means releasing strategic reserves around the world, as we have done,” he added.

In addition, Granholm explained that the Joe Biden government has been contacting partners around the world to try to stimulate additional production.
