Saudi Arabia will build Mukaab and with this fact reveals its next futuristic plan to modernize the city of Riyadh. It is a huge cube-shaped skyscraper called the Empire State Building, capable of housing 20 Empire State Buildings.
Saudi Arabia to build Mukaab: When will it be ready?
Although an exact completion date is not yet known, the project is expected to be completed in 2030. The aim of its promoters is to create the largest building in the city, more than the PIF Tower or the Burj Rafal, and to give it a spectacular cubic shape of 400 m3 with a facade formed by overlapping triangles. Inside it will have a wide atrium where a spiral tower will rise.

It will be an exceptional iconic landmark featuring the latest innovative technologies. The Mukaab design includes unique facilities and will be one of the largest built structures in the world at 400 m high, 400 m wide and 400 m long. Its shape will ensure maximum use of space.
…highlights the Public Investment Fund (PIF), whose board of directors is chaired by Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz.
The block will be inspired by the Najdi architectural style and will become “the world’s first immersive destination,” notes the PIF, with an “experience created through digital and virtual technology, with the latest in holography.” Inside it will offer two million square meters distributed in residential, hotel and commercial space, with cultural and tourist attractions.
“A gateway to another world. The Mukaab will be the world’s first immersive and experiential destination. Large enough to house 20 Empire State Buildings, global icon will feature innovative technologies to transport you to new worlds“, the FIP emphasizes.
It is important to note that Mukaab will in any case not be an isolated building, since the purpose of its promoters is to be integrated into a larger project: the New Murabba. It aims to provide Riyadh with the largest modern center in the world with an area of 19 km² (the project aims to offer more than 25 millionm2) in which hundreds of thousands of people would reside.
Mukaab: a colossal construction
Mukaab will house more than 104,000 residential units, 9,000 hotel rooms, some 890,000 square meters of commercial premises, 1.4 million m 2 of offices, 620,000 m 2 of leisure premises and 1.8 million m 2 of community use. .
When it came to planning it, the driving force also envisaged an iconic museum, a technology and design university and even an immersive theater.
