Vestas wind turbine components arrive in Australia

The 105 MW wind farm will utilize EnVentus V162-6.2 MW turbines and will include a 30-year service agreement.
Vestas entregó turbinas y componentes para el parque eólico King Rocks

Vestas confirmed the arrival at the Port of Bunbury, Western Australia, of the main components destined for the King Rocks Wind Farm, a project developed for Synergy (Electricity Generation and Retail Corporation).

The delivery represents a key milestone for the construction of the onshore wind project located near Hyden, in the Wheatbelt region.

Project includes 17 EnVentus 6.2 MW turbines

Among the equipment received at the Australian port are:

  • 51 blades approximately 80 meters in length.
  • 85 tower sections.
  • 17 hubs, nacelles, and drive trains.

The components will be transported more than 450 kilometers inland to the installation site near Hyden.

The wind farm will feature 17 V162-6.2 MW turbines from the EnVentus platform, reaching a total installed capacity of 105 MW.

Vestas to supply full EPC solution

The company indicated that the project will be developed under an EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction) scheme, also including a 30-year service and maintenance agreement.

According to Vestas, the objective is to ensure operational efficiency, long-term performance, and continuous technical support for the wind farm.

The company highlighted that the EnVentus platform has established itself as its leading onshore solution, accumulating more than 14 GW installed globally.

Australia drives renewable energy expansion

The King Rocks project is part of Western Australia’s efforts to expand renewable generation capacity and strengthen the reliability of the electrical system.

Synergy seeks to increase the share of clean energy within its energy matrix through investments in large-scale wind and solar projects.

Vestas noted that the wind farm will contribute to a more sustainable and affordable energy supply for the region, while also supporting decarbonization and energy transition goals.

EnVentus platform continues to expand globally

The EnVentus platform was designed to optimize energy generation through large-diameter rotors and higher operational efficiency.

Vestas indicated that this technology continues to record strong growth in international markets thanks to its ability to improve energy production and reduce levelized costs of electricity.

The arrival of the components in Australia marks the beginning of the next phase of construction and installation for the King Rocks Wind Farm.
