Photovoltaic solar energy technology leads the growth of primary energy supply globally, reducing pollution in key markets.
Photovoltaic solar energy technology
This renewable source contributed more than 25% of the total increase and even surpassed natural gas in terms of expansion. This behavior reflects a transformation in power infrastructure, where clean sources gain ground against polluting fuels.
The electrification of economies is an unstoppable trend defining the current landscape. In the United States, energy demand has reached peak levels due to the massive expansion of data centers and robust industrial activity. Likewise, the constant increase in electric vehicle sales has limited the consumption of petroleum derivatives for road transport.
Carbon dioxide emissions barely grew by 0.4% last year in a complex economic context. China has managed to stabilize its pollution figures thanks to the deployment of low-emission technologies and greater energy efficiency.
India has also shown flat emissions due to climatic factors and a strengthening of its electricity grid with alternative sources.
