TGS has been awarded a new contract to characterize an offshore wind site in Europe, strengthening its presence in the offshore renewable energy market.

According to the official statement, the seismic vessel Ramform Vanguard will begin data acquisition in the second half of July. The campaign will last approximately a month and a half and will focus on detailed analysis of the marine subsurface for future wind developments.

This contract is the third that TGS has secured for the summer season in Europe within the offshore wind energy segment. The company is thus strengthening its positioning in site characterization services.

In the words of Kristian Johansen, CEO of TGS:

We are very pleased to have secured our third offshore wind site characterization contract for this year’s European summer season.

The executive also noted that additional tenders are currently underway, which could extend operations into the fourth quarter.

Seismic technology for the new offshore wind site

The project will leverage TGS’s ultra-high-resolution 3D seismic acquisition technology, designed to provide accurate information on subsurface conditions. This type of data is essential to reduce risks in the installation of offshore wind infrastructure.

The company, which specializes in data and intelligence for the energy sector, has an extensive global library of information and technological solutions covering the entire value chain. This capability enables it to position itself as a strategic partner in energy exploration and development projects.
