Rem Offshore confirmed the delivery of the Rem Ocean hull from the Song Cam shipyard in Vietnam on June 15. With this stage completed, the vessel began a new phase of the project: its sea transit to Norway for the installation of its main equipment.
Furthermore, the tow departed from the Hai Phong area on June 17. The route includes a stop in Singapore before continuing toward Europe, where it will be prepared for its planned offshore operations.
Myklebust Verft to Complete Vessel Outfitting
Once in Norway, the Rem Ocean will arrive at Myklebust Verft in Sunnmøre. There, the main systems, operational equipment, and necessary components will be installed to convert the hull into a service-ready offshore construction vessel.
Likewise, this phase will be fundamental for integrating the technical capabilities required for a vessel designed for offshore work, including subsea operations and specialized tasks in demanding environments.
Rem Ocean: New Vessel for Sustainable Offshore Operations
The Rem Ocean is part of Rem Offshore’s new generation of construction vessels. Its design responds to the demand for more efficient vessels for complex maritime projects and operations linked to the offshore energy sector.
Moreover, the departure from Vietnam reflects the coordination between the shipyard, the project team, and the partners involved in the construction. With the vessel now underway, Rem Offshore continues to progress the program toward its final delivery in Norway.
