Oil operator PRIO officially opened the fourth production well in the Wahoo field, located in the Campos Basin. Through an official statement issued to its shareholders and the financial market, the independent crude oil firm confirmed that the extracted volume has stabilized at 10,000 barrels of oil per day. This advancement consolidates the planned drilling phase for this subsea interconnection project.
Optimizing operational capacity in the Wahoo Field
The completion of the drilling operations allows the company to finalize the deployment of the production wells planned in the original development plan. In accordance with previously announced strategic guidelines, the corporation will limit the total flow extracted from this reservoir to a maximum of 40,000 barrels of crude oil per day. This measure aims to efficiently optimize internal pressure and extend the useful life of the available reserves.
Despite initial operational delays caused by mechanical failures in support vessels, the culmination of this stage reinforces the company’s technical capability in managing complex infrastructures. Production obtained from the Wahoo block is channeled directly to the FPSO Valente floating unit for subsequent processing. This logistical integration ensures a constant flow that strengthens the organization’s financial statements.
