The energy company Naturgy will consolidate its gas network and distribution infrastructure in Mexico. The firm’s chairman, Francisco Reynés, formalized this commitment following a working meeting in Madrid with the Governor of Nuevo León, Samuel García. The institutional meeting was also attended by the company’s Managing Director of Networks, Pedro Larrea, along with the Country Manager for Mexico, Alejandro Peón.
Alliance for the development of the industrial gas network
Consequently, the projected investment of over 300 million euros will be executed progressively until 2030. This financial allocation will be specifically dedicated to the expansion and technical optimization of networks in strategic municipalities. In this way, the corporation seeks to ensure a steady gas supply in the face of the significant growth of the region’s business sector.
Additionally, the northern state is currently positioned as the entity with the most robust natural gas infrastructure in the nation. The local system has more than 11,000 kilometers of installed pipelines, an extension equivalent to one-sixth of the national total. This technical framework is complemented by seven distribution stations and 11 supply centers for natural gas vehicles.
In this regard, the private organization has operated in the Mexican market for nearly three decades. Currently, it serves more than one million residential and commercial users in the Nuevo León area. Technical expansion works will be concentrated primarily in the Monterrey metropolitan area, an urban zone that accounts for 90% of the state’s population and represents the country’s second-largest industrial hub.
For its part, the firm’s network management highlighted that the country is undergoing a period aimed at increasing the competitiveness of its productive sectors. Likewise, spokespersons noted that the development of stable energy networks serves as an essential engine for attracting foreign capital and generating social stability for millions of people.
