During the AMPP + Expo 2024 Annual Conference in New Orleans, Juan Caballero, vice president of AMPP Global, shared valuable input on the organization’s progress and expectations for this significant event in the corrosion and protection industry.
During the interview, Caballero expressed AMPP’s enthusiasm for the innovations that will be presented to the global community, highlighting the growth in attendance and exhibits compared to previous years.

AMPP Global is focused on significantly improving the user experience, with efforts aimed at providing exceptional service.“Our goal is to provide a better user experience, with quality content and a more interactive platform,” said Caballero. In addition, he promised surprises related to improvements in individual and corporate memberships, which will be announced during the conference.

Caballero also said that the presentations he will lead will address how AMPP certifications and accreditations can positively impact drinking water and wastewater projects, as well as a case study on a project in Latin America, demonstrating the importance of professional certifications in the region.
The interview also touched on how AMPP is working to unify the global community around common standards through certification programs, webinars and collaborations with universities and global associations. “We are very close to getting the community to speak the same language,” Caballero said, highlighting AMPP’s role in disseminating knowledge and technology in the corrosion field.
In addition, mention was made of the growth of AMPP student chapters in Latin America and other regions, reflecting the organization’s commitment to education and professional development from an early age. Caballero highlighted the importance of programs such as Emerge, which seeks to expand to Latin America, strengthening AMPP’s presence in secondary and university education.
