Consequently, this energy generation infrastructure will have an installed capacity of 1.4 gigawatts and will operate jointly with the Vanguard East complex, reaching a combined capacity of 2.8 GW in the North Sea.
Regarding the trajectory of the Basque plant, this order represents the third consecutive contract the firm has undertaken in its foundation workshops since the plant’s inauguration in 2024. Previously, the organization executed the East Anglia 3 project for Scottish Power and is currently actively manufacturing components for Hornsea 3, developed by the Danish corporation Ørsted.
Furthermore, the factory’s operational capacity allows for the manufacture of XXL components designed for turbines exceeding 15 and 20 megawatts, a technical factor that positions the entity as a strategic supplier in the international wind power supply chain.
On the other hand, the development of this industrial activity occurs in a complex commercial environment, characterized by geopolitical volatility and the asymmetric competition from Asian producers. Despite these financial variables, the company’s management ratified the achievement of the goals established in its business plan.
Consequently, operational stability has allowed for the maintenance of a workforce of 1,500 technical professionals in the region. The company’s general management noted that having this advanced technology mitigates global market pressure and ensures the industrial autonomy of Western Europe.
