Enstor’s Mississippi Hub expansion approved by FERC

Mississippi Hub gas storage to grow by 2.5 times

For context, Mississippi Hub is recognized for its delivery capability and strategic location, which connects it to major interstate pipelines and sources of shale gas shale gas sources on the Gulf Coast. The expansion calls for three new subway caverns that will add nearly 30 billion cubic feet (Bcf) of operating capacity and the gradual expansion of existing caverns, bringing the total storage volume to 56.3 Bcf, more than double the current capacity.

The project will increase injection capacity to 1.90 million decatherms per day (MMDth/day), while withdrawal capacity will remain at 2.40 MMDth/day, in accordance with previous certifications. Emerald Storage Holdings LLC, Enstor’s parent company, confirmed that construction will begin immediately and is expected to be in service in 2028.

Enstor manages six facilities in four states and has more than 110 Bcf of total operating capacity. With this development, the Mississippi Center is positioned as a key point to serve growing regional demand and ensure interconnection with major natural gas transmission systems. natural gas.
