DeepOcean completes the Teal West underwater connection in the North Sea

DeepOcean connects Teal West with the FPSO Anasuria using underwater infrastructure and robotic operations without the intervention of divers.

DeepOcean completed the construction and underwater connection work of the project Teal West, developed by Anasuria Operating Company in the British sector of North Sea the operations made it possible to connect the deposit with the FPSO Anasuria through new subsea infrastructure designed to transport and control production. The project included the installation of essential systems to integrate the first producing well with the existing floating unit and leverage its operational capacity to incorporate new oil and gas production.

DeepOcean connects Teal West with the FPSO Anasuria

DeepOcean completed the construction and underwater connection work of the project Teal West, developed by Anasuria Operating Company in the British sector of North Sea the infrastructure connects the site with the FPSO Anasuria which is already operating in the area. The technical scope included the installation of a flexible production riser and a subsea flow line. An umbilical was also installed to connect the FPSO to the underwater Christmas tree of the development.

In addition, DeepOcean carried out the necessary work to protect the new lines and completed the commissioning of the installed infrastructure. In this way, the project leverages existing facilities offshore existing ones to incorporate new production.

Underwater robotics replaces the intervention of divers

Furthermore, one of the technical components of the project was the execution of the connections using a remotely operated vehicle (ROV) and specialized tools.

This system allowed operations to be carried out without resorting to divers, DeepOcean used its own underwater connection tool designed to work with high-pressure flanges and perform pipe and valve connections using robotics.

The application of this technology allowed the integration of Teal West’s new components with Anasuria’s existing production infrastructure.

Three kilometers of underwater pipelines connect the first well

Teal West is located in the central North Sea area, the development functions as a tieback submarino towards the FPSO Anasuria, located approximately 180 kilometers east of Aberdeen in waters about 90 meters deep. The complete plan includes two production wells and one water injection well in its initial configuration, one of the producing wells is connected to the FPSO via approximately three kilometers of subsea flow lines. This configuration also allows the use of existing FPSO capacity instead of developing a new, separate facility to process the field’s production.

DeepOcean completes offshore operations in phases

The office of Deep Ocean and Aberdeen it was responsible for the engineering and project management related to the subsea construction and connection operations. The offshore work was carried out in stages. First, the construction and connection of the subsea systems were completed. Subsequently, commissioning was performed from a second construction vessel offshore belonging to the fleet chartered by the company. With the work completed, Teal West entered production, connected to the Anasuria infrastructure. The development thus expands the use of existing assets to incorporate additional oil and gas production in the British sector of the North Sea.
