Chiyoda Corporation has signed a framework agreement with Shell Global Solutions International B.V. to provide engineering and procurement services for potential future projects worldwide. The agreement aims to facilitate Shell’s access to Chiyoda’s technical expertise as new energy development needs arise.

Furthermore, the agreement strengthens a working relationship that both companies have built over more than five decades on international projects. Under this arrangement, Chiyoda will be able to support early planning, engineering, and procurement stages, contributing technical expertise to complex initiatives within the energy sector.

A flexible framework for future energy projects

The Enterprise Framework Agreement, known as EFA, establishes a more agile collaboration process between Shell and Chiyoda. Its objective is to accelerate the mobilization of specialized teams, improve coordination between the two organizations, and reduce uncertainties related to costs and schedules.

Likewise, the framework will allow Shell to respond more quickly to market changes, technical adjustments, or new project conditions. In these types of agreements, early availability of engineering and procurement services can make a significant difference in the planning of large-scale energy assets.

Engineering and procurement with a focus on execution

Chiyoda will contribute its expertise in developing complex energy projects, a field where conceptual engineering, supplier selection, and procurement management directly impact the viability of each initiative. The Japanese company has worked with Shell on global projects and is now formalizing a framework designed for future opportunities.

Furthermore, the collaboration aims to improve execution predictability, including better risk assessment, technical integration from the initial stages, and greater confidence in delivery deadlines. For Shell, having an engineering partner within a pre-established framework can facilitate faster decision-making when new investments arise.

An alliance built on more than 50 years of collaboration

The relationship between Chiyoda and Shell spans over 50 years, a significant factor in a sector where technical expertise and operational continuity are as important as the ability to execute projects. The new agreement reinforces this history and paves the way for more structured cooperation on future energy projects.

For its part, Chiyoda frames this agreement within its corporate purpose of enriching society through the value of engineering and its mission focused on maintaining harmony between energy and the environment. With this, the company seeks to participate from the earliest stages of development and promote business co-creation models with its clients.
