The Norwegian company Aker Solutions consolidated its presence in the North American market following the award of a long-term services contract by Cenovus Energy for the White Rose field. The agreement has a stipulated duration of five years and is classified under the category of substantial orders for the global firm.

This range represents an estimated financial value between 500 and 1,500 million Norwegian kroner. The economic validity of the agreement will be formally recorded within the financial results corresponding to the second quarter of 2026, specifically within the organization’s Life Cycle segment.

Management and optimization of White Rose field assets

In line with the project specifications, operational work will focus directly on the White Rose field, located approximately 350 kilometers east of St. John’s, Newfoundland and Labrador. Activities include the provision of engineering support, maintenance, and operational management for both the new West White Rose platform and the floating production, storage, and offloading vessel known as the SeaRose FPSO. The execution of these tasks will require the technical deployment of approximately 120 professionals strategically distributed across onshore and offshore facilities.

Regarding the methodology applied, the company will implement an organizational scheme aimed at ensuring the profitability and predictability of processes on the East Coast. Paal Eikeseth, Executive Vice President and Head of Aker Solutions’ Life Cycle business, stated that a multidisciplinary project execution model will be applied to provide safe, predictable, and cost-effective operations to their clients. Likewise, technical planning aligns with the projected start of commercial production from the West White Rose platform, scheduled for the course of 2026.

Furthermore, this award strengthens a commercial bond that has extended uninterruptedly since 2005. Aker Solutions has managed previous processes of high technical complexity at the asset, including the towing and installation of the concrete gravity structure. Additionally, the firm successfully completed preparation work for the dry-dock life extension campaign of the SeaRose FPSO carried out during the 2024 period.

Ultimately, the consolidation of these engineering and support services reaffirms the strategic value of the Canadian marine environment for global energy infrastructure providers. The experience accumulated over more than three decades on the East Coast supports the long-term operational viability of the region’s hydrocarbon resources, positioning the firm as a strategic player in the global supply chain.
