The British company specializing in Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) solutions ROVOPhas entered into a global partnership with Boskalis’ subsidiary, Subsea Servicesto provide integrated subsea solutions across the energy industry.
Partnership for innovation in subsea solutions
This collaboration includes the supply of five dive support vessels (DSVs) and one construction support vessel (CSV) from the Boskalis fleet, equipped with dedicated ROV services to optimize service delivery.
In addition, the partnership envisages the implementation of seven ROV systems from ROVOP in these DSVs and CSVs over a minimum period of 3 years internationally. The company will also deploy additional ROV systems as needed.
ROVOP’s diverse fleet of vehicles allows for different configurations on board the Boskalis Subsea Services fleet, adapting to the specific needs of end customers. This partnership expands an existing relationship, which has already demonstrated significant cooperation between the two companies, both on land and at sea.
Driven by growing demand and limited supply in the subsea market, this agreement improves supply chain reliability, the companies say. Having the right ROV, operated by qualified offshore personnel, is crucial to deliver efficiency and consistency in projects.
Crucially, the implementation of ROVs on Boskalis’ six assets improves safety performance, as the ROVs act as additional visual support for diving operations. It also enables divers to perform tasks without divers, such as cuttings and recoveries.
Stuart Cameron, Managing Director of Boskalis Subsea Services stated the following:
“This collaboration not only strengthens our capabilities, but aligns perfectly with the addition of the CSV Northern Ocean to our fleet, reaffirming our commitment to the North Sea and the evolving needs of our customers.”
For his part, Neil Potter, CEO of ROVOP added “Boskalis Subsea Services is known for its strength in delivering vessel and dive based services, and we believe that our ROV service, provided by our world class staff, will be complementary and combine to offer a market leading solution to the global offshore energy industry.“.
Technological advances and sustainability in subsea operations
The partnership between ROVOP and Boskalis Subsea Services not only highlights the improved efficiency and safety of subsea operations, but also underlines the crucial role of technological innovation in the sustainability of these operations.
The use of ROVs allows not only to reduce human risk in hazardous environments, but also to minimize the environmental impact of underwater operations. This collaboration highlights how advanced technology and sustainable practices can go hand in hand to ensure the future of responsible offshore resource exploration and exploitation.
