Solaris Bus & Coach has secured a major agreement to supply Ile-de-France Mobilités, the Parisian public transport manager, with a fleet of 22 Urbino hydrogen-powered buses for the French capital.
According to the plan, delivery of these environmentally friendly vehicles is scheduled for 2025, following a call for tenders opened by Île-de-France Mobilités to acquire and maintain these 22 vehicles powered by this innovative technology.
Environmentally friendly buses of exceptional quality and performance
After evaluating and promoting sustainable sustainable transportation within the region, Ile-de-France Mobilités has conducted a series of tests focused on the feasibility of using hydrogen as an energy source for its transportation systems. This interest stems from a commitment established in 2018, aimed at completely modernizing the region’s bus fleet.
The selection of buses for this project is testament to the exceptional quality and performance of its hydrogen buses, standing out in the industry. According to a company announcement, by 2023, Solaris accounted for 44.5% of all hydrogen buses registered in Europe, an achievement that underscores its leadership and expertise in the sector.
