Polestar’s heritage in motorsport

Today, Polestar engineers and designers have integrated this rich racing heritage into their street models. However, they have not left racing behind and, with the Arctic Circle collection, they continue to demonstrate their commitment to the world of ice racing.

A bold design for extreme conditions

The Arctic Circle collection has been created to excel in the harsh environment of icy tracks and snow circuits. Equipped with special ice tyres and a raised suspension, the vehicles in this series are ready to conquer the frozen Zell am See airfield. Nahum Escobedo, Polestar’s Exterior Design Director, enthuses that this collection is a showcase of their technological prowess and a way to make a bold style statement.

Yellow is a colour that conveys energy and confidence, and we believe it fits perfectly with this event ,” says Escobedo. This bold colour choice, combined with the white details, makes these vehicles instantly recognisable, reflecting the vitality and competitive spirit of ice racing.

Features of Arctic Circle vehicles

Each model in the Arctic Circle collection has been designed with extreme performance in mind. The Polestar 2 , Polestar 3 and Polestar 4 have been enhanced to deliver an exceptional driving experience, both on icy tracks and on the road. Active air suspension and computerised torque vectoring control ensure precise handling adapted to the demanding conditions of snow.

These cars are already designed for high performance, so modifications were minimal ,” says Joakim Rydholm, chassis development manager and rally driver. Although changes to the cars to adapt them to the conditions of ice racing were subtle, the designers ensured that every detail was up to the demands of the event.
